Finally, a new experience. How exciting. The usually polite spider scuttled her way through the forest, positively giddy. She was going out on her first hunt, her very first hunt! This meant far more than that alone though. This would be her first time performing genuine combat medicine on the front lines, being up and close to the heat of battle. By the moon above, she hoped she was ready for this.

The large faunus was dressed in her usual attire, blue dress with it's white sleeves covering her upper half rather well while her lower body went exposed. She had packed lightly for this outing, knowing that she would be a burden enough as it was without a heavy rucksack.

She tried not to let the serene sky above distract her, the dazzling stars watching over her. Having followed the map on her scroll she soon arrived at the meeting point. A small clearing which held clear signs of devastation. Trees had been uprooted, the earth had been displaced in places, whatever had come through here was clearly making a territory for itself.

Quadruple checking that she was in the correct location, Charlotte found that she had been the first to arrive. Rather surprising considering her meandering pace, though she supposed knowing that was her flaw made her set out earlier and rush to the location. She was destined to be either first or last, nowhere between.

Taking a more rested stance she backed her way beneath some overhanging trees, hoping the Intel provided on this mission had been correct. That, in just under an hour, some Grimm had rushed through here for the past three nights straight. There was no information on what species or how many, just that it was grimm causing havoc. That should have been enough to peak any hunter's interest.

When she had taken the Huntress had noticed that three positions out of the four had already been filled by students, around as new as her. She knew not if they had been made to do so by a teacher or had signed up like she had.

Pearl's silvery orbs glinted within the moonlit sky, it was a hunter's night tonight. She kept her cautious walking pace as this was her first mission as well. Her 'switch' stayed on the precipice of her consciousness, listening to her mentor's voice occasionally ringing in her head. She kept her head down with her olive hood resting over her face and eyes with her cloak keeping the rest of her body hidden.

'What are you doing… Check your surroundings'

She immediately perked up and drew her sword, slashing a tree that she had mistaken for a shadow. Her blade had barely any resistance. The slash from her sword cut through the tree as if it was a cloud, simply splitting it like a cake with barely a few splinters flying into the air. As the tree began to slide to the earth, Pearl began panting before she took a couple of deep breaths. 'Shit..' she thought to herself, watching the already brittle tree allow gravity to take it. She grabbed her chest attempting to calm her heart before she continued to proceed to the meeting spot, sheathing Nemean back into its sheathe. Luckily she was able to keep her 'switch' off for a bit longer.

Once she got closer, she immediately went behind one of the uprooted trees and scouted the area more than minor amount of feet away. Pearl's eyes grew wide as she saw for her first time a Spider Faunus, especially a faunus with such pronounced features. Pearl's mouth went almost agape as she took notice of every curve of the spider abdomen and carapace. Taking notice of its spinnerets all complimented by the upper body of the young woman. In a word, Pearl thought she was beautiful. Pearl immediately looked back at the mission details and saw the only other female was a woman named Charlotte. Pearl blinked a couple of times and then just had a faint grin, 'At least there's another Faunus. This will be fun.' her thoughts trailed before shaking her head underneath her hood before coming from behind the shadows of the tree, waving to the eerie grace that was her partner.

Phoenix was bored and he felt like he needed to shoot off some bullets at things but not boring targets. He had already fought Grimm before his time at Syne so it would be no biggie to fight them again. He gathered up his ammo and his ammo strap filled up the strap with extra ammo rounds. Clipped his 2 shotgun holsters to his belt put on his armour then he noticed there was a hunt up. The only problem with that was Phoenix would have to rely on others to watch his back which was hard for him to do and he prefered to work alone but on this case he thought he would give it ago. Besides the people here can't be that bad right? he decided to give it a go.

He walked out to the forest and he noticed when he got to the meet up location on his scroll that four others would be joining. It didn't take him long to get there with his above normal speed. When he got there he noticed there was a spider faunus? it appeared. There was also a girl and she her hood down so he could just about make out her face through it. He wondered who was the 4th person who would be joining then. Phoenix hoped there wouldn't be more people.

He noticed once more the moon and stars were out so while he stood their with the others he just looked up at the sky. He didn't feel like talking to the others too much as he didn't know them too well. He wasn't picky on who came along either as long as they can fight and protect their fellow team mates thats fine by him.

“Work, darn it!”

Barzilai walked with his head down, frowning at his Scroll and tapping the screen furiously. Where was the GPS function on this thing? “I swear it hates me…” His shoulders slumped as the screen flashed brightly twice and then blinked off completely. Great. Now he’d turned it off. Barzilai sighed and shoved the device into the pocket of his black jeans. He didn’t need the damn thing to navigate, anyway: The mission intel had covered the general location of the rendezvous point, and years spent living in the dense wood of Finnek Forest had sharpened his navigational sense to an instinct. Still… That didn’t excuse how late he was going to be.

He shook his head as he ran, weaving between trees effortlessly as he made his way steadily North. He’d decided to take a nap, hoping to be well rested and fully prepared for his first official mission, but it was just like him to oversleep... He looked up, through the dense canopy of branches, at the scattered stars and shattered moon in the sky. Well, at least it was a nice night for this. Hopefully they wouldn’t be too upset with hi-

Moonlight fully hit his face, and he blinked in surprise, slowing to a stop in the middle of a clearing that was already occupied by three other people. Oh man, he was here already?

“Uh… hello everyone!” He straightened up and brushed off his jacket as he took in the sight before him: three fellow students, only one of which he’d actually met before. He raised his hand and waved at Phoenix Auburn, whose twin shotguns were holstered at his sides, and smiled before turning his attention to the other two. One was a girl of average height, her head shrouded by an olive-colored hood and wearing a sophisticated looking suit of body armor, with a katana sheathed on her back. A thick mane of golden hair poked out from said hood, and she stood with her arms crossed next to… Whoa. Barz’s eyes grew wide as he took in the sight of the faunus: her dark-haired, bright-eyed human upper body swathed in a blue and white dress down to the waist, where it merged into the abdomen and eight legs of a spider, twice the size of said upper body.

Barz noticed his mouth hanging open, and he quickly shut it, not wanting to offend her by looking so surprised.  “So… looks like we’re all here.”

"Indeed it would appear so, greetings to all of you," Charlotte half bowed, half curtseyed, as she was unable to entirely perform the latter, "Greetings to you all, my name is Charlotte Monochrome and I shall be your medic this evening, please be gentle with me as this is my first hunting venture. I am however well practiced in my craft so you needn't worry."

She lightly clasped her hands before herself, briefly scanning those who lay in front of her. The first newcomer, the hooded one, seemed to have an awful lot of hair. Even with her hood up, a fair bit was visible. She could almost see glimmers of fangs in the moonlight, was it perhaps she was a faunus of sorts. With that head of hair she could be a lion. The spider faunus gently waved back to her.

The second had a more prominent trait, ears poking out the top of his head accompanying his red hair. He seemed a touch quieter than the other, but regardless the huntress in training was prepared to help him should he need it.

The third was a strong looking man, seemingly with no obvious faunus trait. He was the last to arrive, but he had initiated the conversation. Perhaps he was a joker, or was simply trying to play off his lateness with kindness. Regardless, the faunus woman would hold no grudge.

"It won't be long till whatever this beast should be is reported to rush through here, I carry no weapons and so I am fully prepared. You three however may wish to stretch or arm yourselves, while I am a good medic I'd rather my first memories of newfound friends were happy and exciting rather than painful," She smiled, cocking her head to one side and closing her eyes slightly.

GRIMM ENCOUNTER
Grimm Type: Creep
Count: 1
Level: 1
Creep HP: 75/75
Defense: (10 Damage Resistance)

Creeps in general were not the brightest of creatures. In terms of knowledge and judgement, creeps were pretty basic. What they did overall excel in though was initial ambushes. Creeps have the ability burrow through the ground, and approach prey from directly below nearly undetectable.

That being said, with absolutely no real warning, a single creep suddenly bust out of the ground directly below Pearl, attacking her with a headbutt. Hoping that would be enough to momentarily stun her, the creep turned its body around and charged at Phoenix, intending to attack him with a Headbutt.

Damage:

Creep - Headbutt on Pearl - 5 DMG
Creep - Headbutt on Phoenix - 5 DMG

Important Info:

The Creep's head is covered by a bone-like helmet. Attacks to the top of the head will not be very effective. Also across the back of the creep are small, occasional plates of bone armor. A broad or unlucky attack to the back will also be ineffective.

Pearl Chephirah

Pearl grinned at her new acquaintances before pulling down her hood, her mane coming into full view now. She had it slightly managed with a few hair ties as she eyed everyone. "Nice to meet you love. My name is Pearl." despite her very wild girl next door appearance she was actually soft-spoken and her tone slightly above that of being in a library. She was also taking this moment to look over everyone with her silvery orbs, another faunus made her even feel more at ease... despite him looking so skinny. Still though she thought his ears were just as beautiful as the spider's abdomen.

And then she looked over to Barzilai and looking at him up and down he was quite impressive despite being late, but that was short lived after the explosion from below them. Her silver orbs shined a bit as she brought her arm over her face to protect her from flying debris as the grimms head slammed into her stomach. Her cloak flaring up revealing her armor as she flew back several feet into some neighboring rocks. "Oof!" dazing her only momentarily.

As the others stood their greeting each other Phoenix just stood their bored waiting for the action to start and he didn't feel the need to socialise with the others but he felt like because the others were sharing he had to too. "I'm Phoenix Auburn" he said to the others. He already knew pearl and Baramus so the spider faunus was the only one he hadn't met before. Pearl watched him before on one of his other training sessions and he and Bara had fought before 2 times.

Phoenix held his 2 shotguns in hand and he watched as the girl with blonde hair said her name was pearl and he saw a creep Grimm come out of no where and heatbutt her then he turned and tried to headbutt him but Phoenix had other ideas. As the creep ran at him he kicked it in the chest while jumping and spinning in the air then he fired 2 shotgun blasts at it while it was on the ground.

Spoiler:

jumping spin kick 20 damage
shotgun shot 30 damage

Barzilai was about to respond to Charlotte when a slight rumbling from beneath them made him give pause. What was that…? And then a Creep came bursting from under the ground, aiming its armored head at the lion faunus, Pearl. The girl managed to shield her face but was sent flying by the Grimm’s attack, though it appeared the impressive body armor she was wearing beneath her cloak mitigated the potential damage, as Pearl landed with only a slight look of discomfort on her face.

Meanwhile the Creep had spun around and aimed that battering ram of a skull at Phoenix, who had drawn his shotguns. As the monster charged Barzilai jumped into action, dashing forward as the fox faunus moved to flip the Creep over with a rather acrobatic spin-kick. Barzilai gripped Ferrum and Fortia tightly, unclipping them as Phoenix finished his attack with two shotgun blasts, and then leaped into the air himself. He corkscrewed, cocking his elbows back as his silver aura flashed around his weapons, and slammed both tekko down on the Grimm’s exposed stomach, one after the other, before using the momentum of the second blow to roll to the right and away from the beast. Barz hopped back up quickly, spun on his heels and drew in a quick breath, his silver eyes flashing brightly as he swung his right fist in an overhead arc; all of his weight was put into a crushing blow, aimed at a gap in the bone-armor on the Grimm’s side.

Battle Stuff:

Health: 200/200
Aura: 100/100
Left Slam: 35 Damage
Right Slam: 35 Damage
Overhead Right: 35 Damage

"M-My word, that is surprising," Charlotte uttered, quickly taking a safe number of paces backward to ensure her own safety before looking to the wounded... Pearl had she said? A lovely name, regardless her bash didn't look too terrible. Armour should protect her from any grave enough wounds to require assistance.

She watched quietly as her teammates set to work, attacking the beast. As Baramus forced forward with his final attack, simply to be safe, the spider woman weaved up some long threads; extending them from her fingers and whipping her human hands forward to toss them. Aimed to coil around the beast's legs like a snare of sorts.

"I do apologize, but I believe that's just about all I can do to aid you all in this situation!" Charlotte called out, "But if any of you are injured do call on me! I can still reach you from here, you needn't worry."

GRIMM ENCOUNTER
Grimm Type: Creep
Count: 1
Level: 1
Creep HP: -/75
Defense: (10 Damage Resistance)

Phoenix's kick landed successfully on the creep, knocking it back a few feet (-10 HP). This added space between Phoenix and the Creep and gave Phoenix room for follow up shotgun blasts. The Creep managed to sidestep the first shotgun blast, but was caught by the second one, which caught it right in it's right leg (-20 HP).

Entirely focused on Phoenix at the moment, Barzilai was able to catch the creep by complete surprise. The creep was flipped over onto its back, leaving itself open to left strike (-25 HP) and right strike (-25 HP) which both landed with solid strikes, which was just enough to completely finished off the Grimm, causing it to burst into a black cloud of dust.

VICTORY!

Damage:

-

Important Info:

The Creep's head is covered by a bone-like helmet. Attacks to the top of the head will not be very effective. Also across the back of the creep are small, occasional plates of bone armor. A broad or unlucky attack to the back will also be ineffective.

[OOC: Sorry for the late post, I completely forgot I was GMing this thread. If I ever don't reply to anything in like 3 days, usually it's cause I forgot about it, so you can just PM or something after a couple of days if you want, I won't mind ^ ^.

Also if you want to just go into the next encounter, you can just make your rolls and let me know the results, and I'll immediately jump into this thread with the next encounter. It'll save time from a needless rotation.]

Pearl Chephirah

Pearl rose to her feet dusting herself off with a semi-annoyed look on her face before blowing strands of hair from her face. "Ugh, I didn't even get a chance to hit the thing." she exclaimed as the creature dissipated and spitting hair from her face before brushing the rest of it back within her hood. She watched the immediate response from the two males as soon as she got knocked back by the creep which caught her by surprise. Maybe she had to be more vigilant she thought to herself before taking a small sigh and opening her olive cloak.

It revealed her skeletonized armor which was clearly speciality made and quite durable as it didn't even have as much as a scuff mark from the impact of the Grimm. Pearl sighed a bit before returning her arms to her cloak, but not before she unsheathed her blade keeping Nemean at the ready this time keeping her wits about her and staying on a mild alert. Her silvery orbs just locked onto the two males and their attacks of choice were both quite adequate but she couldn't be one to judge, considering she immediately got attacked. She just kept shifting her gaze around them, staying silent, as that one Creep couldn't be the wave they were expecting.

GRIMM ENCOUNTER MEDIUM
Grimm Type: Griffon
Count: 3
Level: 4
Griffon 1 HP: 140/140
Griffon 2 HP: 140/140
Griffon 3 HP: 140/140
Defense: (10 Damage Resistance)

The sound of fighting on the forest floor between the group of students and a Creep was enough to attract the attention of a pack of Griffon's flying directly above. The forest cannopy made it difficult for the Griffon's to see where exactly the students were, but it also kept them out of sight. Besides, the Griffons didn't need to rely entirely on sight for tracking prey. The four-legged winged monsters had superior hearing and were thus able to make out the locations of the students who made a lot of noise, be it through talking or gunfire. The Griffon's circled the top of the forest canopy directly over the students and began to split up, preparing to attack from different angles to catch the students by surprise.

With a loud screech, the Griffons came dive bombing out of sky, piercing through the forest canopy in different spots.

Griffon 1 came flying down first, sweeping down on Charlotte clawing at her with its talons  before attempting to quickly flying back up into the sky.

From the opposite side Griffon 1 came from, Griffon 2 burst through the forest canopy onto Phoenix and also clawing at him with it's talons before attempting to quickly fly back into the sky.

Then, from the side, Griffon 3 came through the canopy next, slashing at Pearl before attempting to fly back into the sky.

Damage:

Griffon 1 - Slash at Charlotte - 40 DMG
Griffon 2 - Slash at Phoenix - 40 DMG
Griffon 3 - Slash at Pearl - 40 DMG

Important Info:

A Griffon's head is covered by a bone-like helmet. Attacks to the top of the head will not be very effective.

Phoenix watched as bara sneaked up on the Creep and took it out with 2 strikes. "Nice team work" Phoenix called out to bara. He then looked in the sky and saw Griffons flying in the sky 3 of them to be exact. One seemed to be going to Charlotte then he saw one of the other Griffons fly out of a canopy towards him try to slash at him. Phoenix waited for the creature to come closer rolled out of the way of the attack and he fired 2 shots at the creature at its sides then one aimed at the head. Phoenix wondered to himself why he felt like there were people watching him all over the place even though there was only the hunters and huntresses left in the town. He couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong. He saw fire and glass and broken buildings around the place and he hated it but he couldn't dwell on those feelings as that would only attract more grimm as negative emotion does that.

Spoiler:

hp    160
aura 150

shotgun blasts 90 damage over all.
sorry it took long to post
